"Being a female in a society where fashion and media is slating and analysing body shapes in every-way possible, it's difficult for women to avoid self-hating. I myself never feel that I can relate to the models on high-glossy fashion magazines. Why not? It's all down to their choice in picking un-realistic looking females to grace the covers and editorials. Uninspiring, unrealistic, Photo manipulated girls and not representing the true female society. Therefore, this is why I feel that woman cannot appreciate their bodies because they are constantly comparing themselves and others to the altered, re-worked models in the media.
Therefore, for my final major project, I want to photograph real women, whatever shape or size. I don't want my images to be super high-glossy fashion editorials, where body is nipped and tucked digitally. I want to capture their personalities and characteristics as I feel that I’ll be able show you the viewer to appreciate the female figure and the girl in front of the camera."
