I am sooooooooo happy I did! It just proved to myself that I can approach people, I can organise shots and I am actually more confident than I thought! I defiantly had learnt after this shoot to stop doubting myself and that negative thought's shouldn't overtake me as much as they do! So a note for all you artists out there, if you feel like your in the same situation as myself, self-doubting and worrying things will go wrong - take a leap of faith! It worked for me, and I now have another model to add to my contacts and some beautiful images to follow.
Ashleah Dickson.
Wow, this girl is just so lovely! She was instantly welcoming and a true gem to work with. She took me on a trek uphill to the woodlands and butterfly patch behind her house. (note, wearing sandals on a trek up a hillside isn't such a good idea, invest in some sturdy, yet still fashionable pair of boots!) Right at the top of this woodlands was a spectacular view of Gordano, she is so lucky to have the location on her doorstep! It was such a carefree and easy shoot, taking photo's of whatever inspired us at that moment in time. The sun was beating down and high in the sky unfortunately as I shot around 2pm (a mistake that I have now learnt from) so I was seeking shade for most of the shoot. Luckily I had my number one fan, my mum, (who has always been a big part of my work, mainly because she is so interested in how I achieve things, I secretly think it's because she wants to take up photography herself!) with my trusty reflector, but as I said, the sun was too high in the sky to block out any light, but came in hand in shady areas that were too dark.
Ashleah can be contacted via her Facebook page and is always looking for wonderful talent to work with. I am planning a shoot with herself and a few other creative girls very soon - again, I shall blog the event once it's done! Thank you again Ashleah! Here are a few photo's of the day, the rest are on my website.
